About Me

Hello. I’m Kaulie, and I’m a freelance writer and student now living in Austin, TX.

In 2014 I graduated with a BA in English from the University of Missouri , where I worked for / fell in love with The Missouri Review. Since then I’ve been a decent waitress, a singularly bad bartender, an editorial intern with Penguin Books and a staff writer for The Millions. Now I’m a graduate student studying journalism at the University of Texas at Austin, fighting the good fight against my overflowing inbox and still searching for the courage to listen to voicemails.

I started this little blog a few years ago to get me writing, thinking, and engaging with the world in a more consistent and intentional way. It’s also a convenient excuse to drink scary amounts of caffeine and spend obnoxious amounts of time in my favorite cafes (as if I needed an excuse).

Thanks for reading, and I hope you’ll stop by often to see what’s going on! For more day-to-day, real-time-ness follow me over on Twitter @kaulielewis or send an email to kaulielewis@gmail.com.
